How our Off-Grid RSTM Packages are rated:
"Stored Energy" - This Watt-hour per day (Wh/d) rating for each package is an indication of the available energy that can be used "per-day", that is stored in the battery bank for any given usage pattern (3S-Wk, 3S-FT, 4S-Wk-h, etc.).
"Primetime Energy" - This Watt-hour per day (Wh/d) rating for each package is an approximation of the total available energy from the PV array during peak sun conditions.
Three Season (3S): Three-season Wh/d ratings indicate the energy demands each package is capable of supporting for Spring, Summer, and Fall use. The 3-season ratings benefit from longer daily peak sun hours, and warmer ambient battery operating temperatures.
Four Season (4S): Four-season Wh/d ratings indicate the energy demands each package is capable of supporting for year-round operation. The 4-season ratings account for reduced daily peak sun hours and the colder temperatures of Winter. The batteries will either be in a heated space (h), or an unheated space (u); colder battery temperatures reduce the stored energy rating of the system.
Weekend (Wk): Weekend use implies that the PV system will be used for shorter intervals than Full-time use, and will have several days to replenish the battery bank before it is used again. As a result, the system can handle higher periodic energy demands, and has a slightly lower built-in energy reserve.
Full-time (FT): Full-time use implies that a PV system will be used on a daily basis, or for longer stretches at a time. As a result, the system is designed to handle regular day-to-day energy demands, and has a slightly higher built-in energy reserve of about +25%.
